What is an
AI companion?
An AI companion is software you can have an ongoing conversation with. You might share a thought, talk about your day or explore an idea. The replies come from AI, not a person behind the screen.
A conversation, with clear expectations
A task-focused assistant usually helps you finish something: find information, write a document or solve a problem. A companion puts the conversation itself at the center. The two can overlap, but a friendly tone does not mean the software has feelings or understands your life the way a person does.
Naina is designed as a platonic AI friend for everyday conversations. A small beginning is enough: “aaj ka din kaafi busy tha” or “help me think of something to do this weekend.” You choose what to share and when to return.
Text chat and voice notes
Typing gives you time to find your words. A voice note lets you speak a thought and listen to a reply. These are different experiences from a live phone call: a voice note is recorded, sent and played back.
Naina’s app includes text chat and recorded voice notes, with AI-generated voice replies. The examples on this website are illustrative. They do not demonstrate a live call or promise a particular response time. See the conversation example.
What does “memory” mean?
Saved chat history lets you reopen an earlier conversation. Personalization can also use selected details from previous messages to inform a reply. Neither means perfect recall: AI can miss context, mix things up or make an incorrect assumption.
For Naina, previous conversations and stored context help provide continuity. You can correct a mistaken detail. Avoid relying on an AI companion as the only record of an important commitment or fact.
Choosing a language that feels familiar
Naina’s conversation instructions use simple Roman Hinglish by default: Hindi written with English letters, mixed with everyday English words. You can explicitly ask for another language or script. Voice pronunciation and generated replies can vary, so the website’s examples should not be treated as a guarantee of language quality.
What to check before choosing an app
- AI identity: it should be clear whether you are speaking with software or a human.
- Privacy: understand where conversations and recordings are processed, what is saved, and how to request data deletion.
- Voice features: check whether the app offers recorded notes or live calls, and what microphone access is needed.
- Membership: read the price, renewal terms, usage limits and cancellation process before paying.
- Control: look for accessible support, ways to report a concerning reply, and controls over notifications.
These are questions to ask, not claims that every app provides every control. Read Naina’s privacy policy, terms and support information before deciding.
Where Naina fits
Naina’s Android app is coming soon. The website introduces its character, conversation style and planned membership. It is not a browser chat service, and the coming-soon buttons are not active download links.
Naina is not a romantic partner, therapist or emergency service. AI replies can be inaccurate. Keep space for real-world relationships and professional help when you need it.
